Start with a role or outcome

Define the work the pathway prepares someone to do. Select the lessons, courses and activities that support that outcome rather than adding every available item.

A path can make onboarding or a role change easier to follow when the learner can see what comes next and why.

Assign the right path

Osmo's assignment workflow can use conditions such as role, department and location. Decide who should receive the path, when it should be assigned and what deadline makes sense.

Preview the people who match before applying a rule. Test exceptions such as a person moving department or carrying relevant prior experience.

Connect completion to review

The end of a pathway may lead to a practical assessment or manager observation. Make that handover explicit so finishing a course is not mistaken for final sign-off.

During evaluation, follow one learner from assignment to the next workplace action and check that each owner can see their part.
