Make the next task easy to find
A learner needs to see what has been assigned, what is due and where to resume. The same underlying learning journey should remain understandable on a phone and a desktop computer.
Use short lessons, readable text and focused checks so the learning works in the context where people actually use it.
Design for real working conditions
Desktop may suit longer authoring and review tasks. Mobile is useful when a learner needs to check a lesson or the next action away from a desk. The content and controls need to adapt to each screen.
During evaluation, test your own material on the devices, browsers and accessibility settings your workforce uses. Do not assume every task is equally suited to every screen.
Keep the handover connected
A lesson completed on one device should still lead to the right practice, assessment or manager review in the same learning record.
Ask a learner to start on a phone and continue on a computer. Check that they can explain what remains to be done.
